Consultation For Transmission Of HIV
I touched a rs 100 note and after that I applied lip balm on my lips with my fingers and after that I realise that I did not wash my hand then i immediately wiped my lips with handkerchief and then applied sanitizer on my hands and on lips also i used dettol sanitizer 70 percent alcohol. Can this transmission hiv? I'm worried that maybe that note had some infected body fluids.

You are completely safe â this is not how HIV transmits. HIV is a very fragile virus that cannot survive outside the human body. Even if someone with HIV had touched that note, the virus would have been dead within moments of exposure to air. There is no scientifically documented case of HIV being transmitted through money, surfaces, or objects, because it simply cannot happen this way. HIV requires direct person-to-person contact through blood, sexual fluids, or breast milk â not through touching everyday objects. Please be fully at ease about this.

There is no risk of HIV transmission in this situation.
HIV is not transmitted by touching currency notes or other inanimate objects, even if an HIV-positive person has handled them. The virus does not survive or remain infectious on environmental surfaces, and casual contact like this does not spread HIV.
Applying lip balm after touching a note, even without washing your hands first, does not constitute an HIV exposure. Therefore, no HIV testing or post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP) is indicated for this incident.
The sanitizer you applied may have caused temporary irritation to your lips, but it has no relevance to HIV transmission.
