For R1 is there any alternative to extraction? For R2, filling would suffice or do i need an RCT? Please let me know.

Clinical plus radiographic examination is required to diagnose the exact condition of both teeth..From R1 it seems it has to be extracted but may be saved with RCT if the occlusal portion is visible..Regarding R2, the best treatment option is to go for root canal treatment instead of filling as it will be a temporary alternative..

It is better to extract R1. R1 tooth hardly plays any role in the mouth. If you have complaint of pain irt R2- you need to go for a RCT. If the tooth is asymptomatic a good filling will help
Next Steps
donot delay the treatment

R1 is the wisdom tooth which is of no use. N can’t be saved. Better remove it. R2 requires good restoration with proper lining at base which may postpone rct but lastly u will get relief with rct nowadays good n better technique are used which offers a painless procedure for rct
