Brushing should begin as soon as the first tooth erupts (around 6 months).
If no teeth have erupted, cleaning gums with a soft, damp cloth is recommended.
How to Start and What to Use?
0–1 Year: Use a clean, damp cloth or a silicone finger brush.
After the First Tooth: Use a soft-bristled toothbrush with a smear (rice grain-sized) amount of fluoride toothpaste.
1–3 Years: Increase to a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste.
Brush twice daily, especially before bedtime.
Supervise brushing until the child can spit out toothpaste properly (around 3 years).
