Broken Cavity teeth
Two molars of my upper teeth have developed cavity from the gum line and broken to some extent..My dentist advised me to get RCT to both teeth as well as to get my upper wisdom tooth removed..I don't want to get RCT on bothsides..Can I avoid RCT n get filling for atleast one teeth!!I didn't get my xray done in my last visit..Can a broken cavity tooth be restored with filling ??
Final decision can be made after x ray only. If RCT is suggested filling can't be done. Broken teeth can be restored with filling only if the cavity is away from the pulp.
Kindly visit dentist for x ray.
If x ray confirms RCT, then get RCT done followed by post and crown.
If the tooth breaks more then it becomes difficult to save the tooth and may even lead to extraction.

RCT are safe and have good results with recent technology. The indication for RCT can be determined by
1. X ray - visualisation of extent of decay
2. Pain - Once you experienced pain in that particular tooth, then RCT is the only option.

If you haven't experienced pain , then you can go for pulp capping procedures and then filling mam.

An X-ray is required to confirm the extent of decay. If the cavity is deep rct might be the only way to salvage the tooth.
