Breathing issues

2025-05-20 06:11:45
Hi, when I workout then at night when I lay down I feel difficulty breathing but I do yoga daily that doesn’t affect my breathing anyways and I am normal. Even if I climb stairs I have no problems. Is this something serious

High possibility that this is due to acidity
Next Steps
1. Eat smaller portions at night 2. Remain seated after work out 3. Keep gap of 45 mins between meals and workout 4. Avoid spicy, oily food in evening 5. Consult nearby GP for an Antacid

The pattern and the intensity of your workout has to be studied. You should reduce the time for which you are doing your workout. Yoga is usually a moderate intensity workout and you tolerate it better. Please consult a General Physician in your area for evaluation of your cardio respiratory health

From your symptoms there is no need to worry about there is nothing serious, the breathlessness when you lie down at night is due to fatigue of your workout, try to maintain a proper workout and keep space between workout and your dinner   the breathlessness is mostly due to fatigue try avoiding oily meals in dinner it can cause acidity because of which u also u can feel breathlessness.
Next Steps
if these symptoms persist even after proper workout and dinner schedule and avoiding oily meals then go to nearby hospital get a ecg and chest x ray done to rule out cardiac and respiratory cause of breathlessness.
Health Tips
If acidity problem is there you can take a gastric Medication,it's better to get a ecg done if problem persists after changing workout and dinner schedule.

Based on what you've described, it seems you’re generally healthy and active — doing yoga and even climbing stairs without any issues is a good sign. However, experiencing breathlessness at night after workouts (especially when lying down) could be due to: Exercise-induced muscle fatigue Postural issues or mild acid reflux that worsens when lying down Poor ventilation during workouts Occasionally, anxiety or shallow breathing patterns
Next Steps
Most of these are not serious, but to be safe, I recommend: 1. Avoid heavy meals and intense workouts too close to bedtime 2. Try sleeping slightly elevated with a pillow under your upper back 3. Focus on deep breathing (diaphragmatic breathing) post-workout 4. Ensure your workout space is well-ventilated
Health Tips
If symptoms persist, worsen, or are accompanied by chest tightness, palpitations, or dizziness, please consult a doctor for an ECG, chest exam, or lung function test to rule out hidden issues like mild asthma, GERD, or cardiac concerns. Take care and feel free to follow up for further guidance.
