Hello Firstly, since you have mentioned it has occurred only in the last 3 days , I hope she has had enough sleep. If she is facing lack of sleep , it can lead to increased bp readings. Secondly, medicines need to be titrated and customised since some are long acting and some are short. Thirdly , we may need to run some tests as other organs involvement need to be ruled out if it’s not the first case Fourthly, apart from medicines , adherence to diet and exercise are equally important . Please book a consult with ur choice of physician to include all the above points

"Managing high blood pressure can be challenging, especially if it remains high despite medication. It’s crucial to review the medication regimen and ensure it's appropriate for her condition. The combination of Benidin, Telma, and Mini Express XL may need adjustment. Additionally, lifestyle factors like diet, exercise, and stress management play a significant role in blood pressure control. Since your mother’s current treatment doesn’t seem to be effective, I suggest a detailed review of her medication and lifestyle factors. As a general physician, I can help assess her situation and provide tailored advice. For a thorough evaluation and customized treatment plan, consider booking a consultation with me. Together, we can work towards better managing her blood pressure and improving her overall health."

Please don't give medicine on your own or even after an advice on Tele-consultation. She should have a proper consultation with a General Physician in your area and the dose of medicine titrated against the response on BP reading.

Benidipine is a very short acting medication. Your mother's bp medications need to be titrated by adding long acting tablets so that we can achieve optimal control throughout the day. Kindly please consult, we can add.

How are u checking BP. Get it checked by manual pressure meter. Smtimes the digital monitors are faulty. Also check whether ur mother is really taking medicines or forgetting sometimes. Also the timing of medicines should be kept fixed almost. Do follow these and ask your mother to go for 10-15 min walk daily. This will help

Minipress XL 5mg is not recommended for lowering BP. Better options are available. Amlo 10 + Telma 80 + Chlorthalidone 12.5 can be used as a single morning tablet in your case. Spironolactone 12.5 can be added if the above options don't work.
Next Steps
Consult a General Physician for proper dose escalation and modification of prescription.
Health Tips
1. Use low salt substitutes. Eg, Tata Salt Lite or Tata Salt Superlite. 2. Ensure 150 mins of Moderately Instense exercise per week.

According to my opinion the medications your mother is using is  okay, may be the BP is not controlled because she is not adopting life style modification.. 1)avoid red meat. 2) avoid salt. 3) regular walking for 45 minutes. 4) decrease carbohydrates intake.
