Awful Toothache

2017-10-05 23:14:25
I've had a toothache for 3 days now, I am trying to find relief until I can get into the dentist on the 17th of October, I have been told to take ibuprofen and Tylenol but I have also been told not to mix the two. Is it safe to take them together, 2 200 mg Ibuprofen and 2 500 mg Tylenol, It did seem to help but is it safe to continue to do so and for that long.

Are you self medicating???? Because if a doctor has prescribed you these medications he would have told that they can be taken together. In fact there are certain fixed dose combinations of these two medications as well. Other than the drug interaction, the more important thing to understand in your case is that medications can only provide temporary symptomatic relief for dental pain and the symptoms are bound to reappear unless some objective treatment is done by the dentist. And every medication, most importantly pain killers, carry their own side effects and with long term use acidity or nausea are the commonest side effects. So it is prudent if you avoid medications for a long time and try to schedule an appointment earlier. Regards
