Anal Discomfort

2026-09-12 05:23:01
I had recent anal activity, and a few days later developed a pressure/fullness and warmth around the anus. I noticed some clear/white mucus during bowel movement. No significant pain, bleeding, pus, fever or swelling. Could this be irritation, hemorrhoids or fissure

Pressure or fullness after anal activity may be due to irritation, fissure or piles, but infection or a local abscess must be ruled out if pain persists. Avoid further anal activity, straining and inserting creams without examination. Urgent review is needed for fever, increasing pain, swelling, pus or bleeding.
Next Steps
Please arrange an in-person physician or general-surgery review if it continues beyond a few days. You may book a Practo consultation with me or visit me at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj.

Consult a general surgeon in person, as the condition needs physical examination to further decide treatment. Nothing to be scared of, there might be infection, fissure, or sinus, and all these require different treatment, which cannot be decided without examining in person.
Next Steps
Consultant asap to prevent aggravation of problem.
Health Tips
For the time being You can take sitz bath with plain water. How to do it: Use a clean tub with warm (not hot) water. Sit so the anal/perianal area is submerged. 10–15 minutes, about 2–3 times/day, especially after passing stool. Gently pat dry afterward—don’t rub. Plain warm water is usually enough; Dettol, antiseptic, salt, or soap isn't routinely needed and can irritate the area. Won't recommend using any local application of ointment without diagnosis.
