Abrasion on tongue

2018-09-06 07:37:59
There has been an abrasion on my tongue for a few months now. I read that these are normally suppose to go on their own. What should I do?

It seems like an ulcer formation due to tongue bite from a sharp tooth. Get it evaluated by the dentist to determine the root cause. Rounding off the offending tooth may solve the problem.
Next Steps
Refer to a Dentist or Oral Pathologist.
Health Tips
Usually Apthous Ulcers are self healing and they get healed within a weeks time. Yours is a long standing ulcer, this rings an alarm bell. Get an appointment with your Dentist Immediately, Don't delay it further.

Hi, If its not healing on its own within a span of a week you should get a consultation done from a dentist. There might be some irritation factor in the mouth which is not allowing the area to heal. However if its not an ulcer and a nodule a small excisional procedure will do. As the picture is not clear its difficult to make out if its an ulcer or a nodule. Please do refer to a dentist

Hi! The picture is not clear so can't make out exactly what it is but could be because of some sharp tooth which needs rounding off.
