Alternate for entacavir

Asked for Male, 36 Years

Am under going treatment for hepatitis b since 2012 by using entecavir 0.5mg. Lft & Hbv DNA all are in normal conditions. How much time I take medicine for complete curing? Is there any alternate medicine for entacavir ?

Hi, entacavir is a good medication for treating hepatitis b. If your LFT and hbv DNA are normal then it means the virus load in the liver is negligible. It is better to consult a gastroenterologist or the doctor you have consulted before for stopping or changing the medication.
