CBT,few relaxation techniques might helps but without  proper history no plan can be discussed like this. Duration and rough plan can not be explained without knowing the person. Don't fall for some quick therapies in IED it needs proper understanding of self.

Hi... May I know where this diagnosis is coming from? You need to consult a Psychiatrist before self diagnosing yourself with conditions searching online and seeking treatment. Typically, treatment of depression may last for 6-8 months to 1-2 years using various therapeutic approaches like CBT, CCT, Existential Approach, Psychoanalysis, etc. In most cases clients are able to experience recovery within 3-4 months into weekly counselling sessions. But the quality of change depends also upon clients willingness to change and not just therapists skills. So the outcome may differ in different cases. The problem is that we have become so used to quick fixes, i.e., taking pills for everything, that we find other forms of treatment cumbersome. Even though when they are natural, relatively permanent, and without any side effects.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychologist. CBT along with Lifestyle Guidance and Interpersonal Counselling is required.
