I had a C-section delivery 5 months ago and I am exclusively breastfeeding my baby.
Last month I had light spotting for about 7 days which stopped on its own.
Two weeks ago I again had spotting for around 5–7 days, but after that I started having light bleeding again.
Currently the bleeding has been continuing for about 9 days. The flow is not heavy — about one pad lasts 4–5 hours and it is only around one-quarter filled. The blood is bright red. I feel the flow more when I walk or when I go to the bathroom.
I do not have severe abdominal pain, large clots, dizziness, or foul-smelling discharge.
Recently I also had an 8-hour car travel and did some heavy housework due to shifting houses.
I consulted a doctor today and was told it might be due to heavy work and hormonal changes after delivery. No medicines were given because I am breastfeeding.
Is this type of irregular bleeding normal 5 months after a C-section while breastfeeding? How many more days can bleeding continue?
