ADHD VYVANSE IMPORT INDIA FORM 12B
Respected doctor(s) I'm diagnosed with ADD(Adhd) and undergoing treatment. I have my CA finals exams to give next year and it's especially difficult for me to sit and study tho I'm conceptually brilliant. I'm on methylphenidate which is helping slightly with bad crashes and inconsistency. I tried various formulations of methylphenidate -(inspiral  20mg ir,sr), addwize od Also tried atomoxetine, bupron and armodafinil these didn't help at all even with proper titration. I believe I  exhausted treatment options in india. I want to get treated with vyvanse which is the gold standard treatment for ADHD worldwide. I learned it's possible to avail this treatment in india with Indian psychiatrist prescription and justification along with Filing FORM 12B from my side for legal import. I have seen proof of such imports in online forum hence I know it's possible. Kindly assist me in this regard sir(s)/madam(s) Thanking you

While your frustration with methylphenidate "crashes" and the lack of response to non-stimulants (such as Atomoxetine and Bupropion) is entirely understandable, you have not completely run out of options. Sourcing and legally importing Vyvanse (Lisdexamfetamine) is possible. Under the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, Indian patients are legally permitted to import small quantities of unapproved drugs (typically up to a 3-month supply or 100 doses) for personal use. This is achieved by applying for an import permit online using Form 12A to obtain Form 12B from the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO). However, because Vyvanse is an amphetamine derivative, it is highly regulated under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. While the CDSCO Form 12B is the correct pathway, the import must strictly comply with both CDSCO and Customs rules to prevent shipment seizure.
Next Steps
Obtain a Valid RMP Prescription: Secure a fresh prescription from a Registered Medical Practitioner (RMP) in India. It must explicitly specify Vyvanse, the exact dosage/quantity (up to a 3-month supply), the doctor's registration number, and a clinical justification of why local alternatives failed. Register on the SUGAM Portal: Create an "Individual" user account on the official CDSCO SUGAM online portal (cdscoonline.gov.in). Apply Online (Form 12A): Submit your application under the "Import of Drugs for Personal Use" section. Upload the doctor’s prescription, your ID proof (Aadhaar or Passport), and a proforma invoice from the international supplier. Download Form 12B & Clear Customs: Once CDSCO reviews and approves the application (usually within 1–3 working days), download your Form 12B permit and present it to Customs officials at the port of entry to release your package.
Health Tips
Because amphetamines are classified as highly controlled psychotropic substances, attempting to import Vyvanse without a valid CDSCO Form 12B permit and a matching prescription is a severe offense under the NDPS Act. Never buy from unverified online sellers who claim they can bypass customs. Utilize an Authorized Importer: Consider coordinating your import through an established, licensed pharmaceutical importer in India (such as GNH India), as they can handle the complex logistics and international sourcing safely. Re-evaluate Local Regimens First: Before starting this complex import process, consult your psychiatrist to see if adjusting your current methylphenidate release mechanism (like combining immediate-release and extended-release doses) or adding a non-stimulant adjunct could smooth out your daytime crashes.

Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) is currently not approved/marketed in India. If you have documented ADHD and have had an inadequate response to available treatments, I can review your records and assess whether an import application (Form 12B) is appropriate. If clinically justified, I can provide the required prescription and medical justification as per applicable regulations.
