Adenoid hypertrophy
2.2 years old baby girl suffering from snoring,mouth breathing,sleep disurbance,recurrent cold and cough from last 2 month...xray shows adenoid hypertrophy. What is the medical treatment accept adenectomy..pls suggest me in details..

Good oral hygiene, improving immunity by vitamin A supplements, saline nasal spray regularly, and prompt visit to your doctor in case there's fever or pain. Adenoidectomy shouldn't be considered before the age of 7.

Hello.... No good evidence supports any curative medical therapy for chronic infection of the adenoids,if it's chronic infection adenlodectomy is only option. Systemic antibiotics have been used long-term (ie, 6 wk) for lymphoid tissue infection,but failed to eradicate bacteria, so adenoidectomy is only option, consult ent specialist.
