Hi, I am sure being with an alcoholic is tough. I am sorry it is this way for you. Alcoholism can not be treated without the alcoholics consent. In fact, any of the therapies don’t work without the consent of the person who needs to be treated. Alcoholics become that way because they are trying to find some high on the alcohol. They constantly seek this high because their body is storing a Deep emotional hurt in their system which makes them feel low all the time. In order to cover this low feeling they constantly need alcohol to give them a high to escape this low. Fortunately or unfortunately, this is true. However. If the person who is getting affected by alcoholics behaviour needs therapy that can be arranged for. Alcoholics behaviour can be violent and abusive and the people around feel unsafe around that person. It’s best for the people around an alcoholic to seek help for themselves in order to cope with the alcoholic. I know it’s tough but it’s doable. You’re capable and brave. Stay.

Alcoholism is considered  a major health  as well as social  problem .when someone reaches a crisis point,. sometimes the person admits that he or she has a problem and begins to  reach out for help. You should try to get help from loved ones to talk to him when he is sober. It is always better that he has insight to his problem and is motivated for treatment. If you find him incapable of taking the right decision you can be the one to give consent for treatment in his interest. You should contact a nearest deaddiction centre to find out the process. They will be able to help you.

Hi... Addiction of any substance requires proper treatment. It's no more about one's choice when a substance use becomes an addiction. Such substances hijack the reward system of a person's brain and make them dependent on that substance. Treatment requires a combination of medication and psychotherapy. In some cases de-addiction centres are of great use.
Next Steps
Consult a Psychiatrist and a Psychologist. Interpersonal Guidance and Counselling is required for Substance Abuse.

Alcohol abuse is drinking in a way that can harm oneself and those around them. Alcohol dependence is a physical and psychological necessity to drink. Since alcohol is addictive, it makes the body and mind react negatively when a person with an alcohol use disorder stops drinking. People can abuse alcohol without having an alcohol addiction. Though, without proper treatment and intervention, it can quickly develop into a severe alcohol use disorder
