Acne on Chin (hormonal?)
So, I've never had serious acne issues even when I was a teenager. But for the past 5 months I've been getting recurring acne, mainly on my chin. The acne had first started after I had taken an emergency contraceptive pill. My first period after that had come about 10 days late. Ever since that month my period has not been as regular as it used to be. I've also seen that my acne on chin suddenly appear in clusters when my stools are not clear. I don't know which kind of doctor I should book an appointment for, dermatologist, gynaecologist or a GP. Please help.

The treatment of acne differs according to the grade of involvement. Some people have more oilyness on the face which results in breakouts. After completing treatment for controlling the active breakouts, tablets can be stopped and creams need to be continued to prevent recurrence. Diet and lifestyle modifications are also important. Please don't do any self treatment such as over the counter Steroid creams. Don't burst the pimples with your fingers as it can result in ugly scars. The marks and pores left behind after the pimples heal can also be treated. Please call me or send your photos through online consult option for detailed prescription and diet advice.

Looks like your hormonal cycle is slightly off rhythm after the contraception. consult your gynecologist for a more suitable pill fr contraception As for acne, if this is hormonal, the condition will get better once your period cycles are back to normal. constipation could also trigger pinples. consult a gynecologist , get an opinion from an endocrinologist and meet a dermatologist if the pimples are aesthetically compromising.
Next Steps
meet with your gynecologist and give a detailed history and get your periods regulated.
Health Tips
drink lot of water, avoid picking on the pimple. donot disturb pimples with toomuch cleaning and soaps. use mild soap. dab a cotton dipped in astringent and apply on the pimple to dry up faster.
