About oxygen support
Dear doctor My mother 63 year old having asthama since long time ago...now these days she is having difficulty in breathing and headache I have took her hospital and x-ray ECG covid all are normal I want to keep her in oxygen at home for a some time... because of risk in hospital.. please advise me about oxygen cylinder ..and how to use and what should I take care of Thanks

Only difficulty in breathing doesn’t qualify for oxygen therapy, she needs to be evaluated for overall asthma control and need for O2 at all. Please consult physically or via tele-videoconsultation with a Pulmonologist

Indication for oxygen at home includes desaturation not the breathing problem. First optimize the treatment for asthma and monitor saturation. If there is desaturation even after optimization of asthma treatment thne only think of oxygen at home.

Hi. I understand your concern s. Better option is to control her asthma with proper treatment which can be done at home. For which you can open a private chat consult so that we can prescribe medications to keep her asthma under control so that she need not visit hospitals.
