About iron tablets
Hi doctor I just wanted to know I am 15 weeks pregnant and doctor prescribed me orofer I.e iron and calcium tablets and my doubt is orofer contains 1.1 mg of follic acid so should I take follic acid tab separately which contains 5mg which I was consuming in my first trimester....

Thank you for your question. Yes you may take all the medicines as prescribed. Folic acid is water soluble and any more than you utilise is excreted daily so you need not worry about the extra amount in the iron tablet. 1 mg is not sufficient so additional folic acid has been prescribed which is required for healthy placenta. best wishes

Hi very good question. ..You need not take folic acid separately now as you are in second trimester, however no harm in continuing orofer with folic acid. Hope you are convinced. all the best
