Before going ahead with surgery please be clear why you want to consider surgery. Is there any limitation of routine activities or any limitation of movement? Purely cosmetic consideration will need very careful assessment.
Any surgery carries with it an inherent risk and as such needs careful decision making.

The need for surgery depends on the degree of deformity, your preference and any functional limitation. The surgery involves breaking the bone and fixing it in corrected position. Any surgery carries certain basic risks by its very nature. Overall it is safe as long as you make a decision to accept basic risks. This operation will also involve time off work and driving (upto 5-6 weeks) though you could return to some limited duties depending on your job. If you decide to go ahead, then contact a good upper extremity specialist orthopod.
