I keep a 36 hr fast (only consume water and herbal tea, no food or other liquids) once a week where after eating on Monday late night I consume food straight on Wednesday at 12 pm.
The next day however when I start consuming food I feel as if water or something liquid has reached just below throat and digestion is slower than normal. This is even if I consume normal food like fruits, dal, rice, vegetables.
Even during the fast I feel as if some there is something semi liquid getting digested in my stomach.
No stomach pain or any other issues.
Is this due to excess stomach acid? Should I reduce the duration to 20 hours and eat something light like fruits at night (Tuesday night as per the above example)?
Thank you

Greetings!
From your question, I believe that you are fasting for excessive periods.
Whether it is the first time or you have done this before matters in your situation.
Many people who fast for the first time do it realise that the fasting puts the body in a lot of stress with a lot of hormones going haywire.
Whatever may be the case, it is recommended to go through the fasting in graded fashion. Meaning, step-wise increase in the duration of the fast.
With that said, there are certain groups of people (for example, with Diabetes) who would not be recommended to go on fast for such long durations without prior preparation as it can cause serious effects on health.
