Abdominal pain
My mother has abdominal pain predominantly over the upper abdomen. It occurs especially after having food (spicy food and food from outside). It is associated with distension and feeling of fullness and nausea. It does not get relieved on medications like antacids or pantorazole. Gets relieved spontaneously after 4 to 5 hrs. No aggravating factors. Also has flatulence.

Hello there we understand your feeling and your concern towards your mother. You see pain in the upper abdomen is of many reasons and some if them are gastritis, gerd, some kind if obstruction yo the food may cause this sudden pain. But since You have told us that she is only getting pain after eating spicy and outside food then it is clear that she is facing the problem of gastritis. Kindly consult a general physician of your locality. Thank you

Hello There. i can understand your concern. the complains are consistent with Gastritis, dyspepsia. here are a few things you should ask her to do. 1. avoid oily and spicy foods. 2. have meals in smaller portions. have 5 smaller meals in a day rather than 3 full meals. 3. drink plenty of water. 4. don't sleep immediately after food. let there be atlas a 2-3 hour gap between dinner and sleep. 5. high finer food would be required. 6. take a combination of pantoprazole40mg and levosulpiride 75mg at least half an hour before food. 7. sleep be a raised head. 8. if it still persists, get a endoscopy done and consult a general surgeon in person. best regards, Dr. Anil Kumar Jain
