6 year old boy cavity query
My 6 year old boy has two cavities (left canine and right lower molar)
Doctor suggests treatment under General Anesthesia.
Since they are milk teeth, will it cause problem if we extract yhem.?

It is best to preserve the natural milk teeth as they serve as the best space maintainers. The succedaneous teeth will erupt between the ages of 9-12 years. Hence it is best to get milk teeth treated so that they maintain the natural spaces and prevent any space discrepancy in the future.

If your child is not cooperative, the paediatric dentist might attempt the procedure using nitrous oxide sedation. But if that is not possible, then the procedure might be performed by a paediatric dentist in a hospital set up after a thorough medical examination and under the observation of an anaesthesiologist.

It's better to save them. As the permanent ones will come between 10-12 years.
Do visit a local Pedodontist for treatment and physical evaluation.

Hello, canine and molars fall off anywhere between the age of 9-12. So we try to save them for as long as possible. Please see a Pediatric dentist and check whether there are other ways in which the treatment can be done (whatever on the chair or under laughing gas ). If the above treatment methods don’t work general anesthesia is always an option which is done safely in a hospital set up with a Pediatric anesthetist.
