Hello
It’s common for babies around 6–7 months to pass stools more frequently when new solids are introduced. The loose or slimy stools could be a temporary response to dietary changes, such as the introduction of suji (semolina). Since your baby is feeding well, active, and sleeping normally, it’s unlikely to be an infection.
You can pause suji kheer for a few days and observe. Continue fruits like apple and banana which are easier on digestion. Ensure good hygiene, but putting things in the mouth is a normal developmental behavior at this age.
Next Steps
Stop suji temporarily and reintroduce after a week in small amounts
Continue breastfeeding or formula feeds
Monitor stool frequency and consistency
If stools become watery, foul-smelling, with blood, or baby becomes dull – consult your pediatrician
Health Tips
Introduce one new food at a time and wait 3–5 days before adding the next
Offer mashed banana, rice cereal, or well-cooked moong dal as next options
Maintain hydration, especially if stool frequency increases

It is not uncommon for babies to pass stools more frequently when new foods are introduced. Since you’ve recently added suji apple kheer, it’s possible that her digestive system is adjusting. Suji (semolina) is generally well tolerated, but some infants may show mild intolerance or sensitivity to new foods, especially if combined with fruit.
The presence of 1–2 slimy stools may suggest mild gut irritation or a reaction to a new food. However, the fact that your baby is active, feeding well, and sleeping through the night is very reassuring. These are good signs indicating she is not significantly unwell.
Next Steps
You may consider stopping the suji apple kheer for a few days and observe if the stool pattern improves. Reintroduce it later in a smaller amount and monitor her response.
If the slimy stools persist, increase in frequency, become green or bloody, or if she shows any signs of dehydration, fever, vomiting, or irritability — consult your pediatrician promptly.
Health Tips
Always introduce one new food at a time and wait 3–5 days before adding another.
• Keep her well hydrated, especially if she is passing frequent stools.
• As she puts everything in her mouth, ensure toys and surfaces are clean to reduce the risk of infection.
• If you notice other symptoms like decreased activity or poor feeding, don’t delay seeking medical attention.
