newborn screening is to pick up disease early and treat so that we can reduce the complications and irreversible damage, for example congenital hypothyroid- if not picked at birth leads to mental retardation, even if you start treating late, lost IQ will not be regained.
if affordable, should give a option to do newborn screeing for all the newly born babies.
