42 days baby asking for constant feed
My baby is 42 days old today and doing breastfeed . for the past 4 days he is constantly asking for feed.He is drinking for almost 1 hour for every feed but after he remove his mouth from breast , he is asking next feed within 30 minutes ( showing clear signs of hunger ) . Not sure if he is doing this for his comfort ? Or is he really hungry .sometimes he spit up the milk also I am worried about his current behaviour and he is not sleeping in the day time also. Please suggest the way to handle this .

Please visit a pediatrician for check up. Usually this is nothing to worry about. Feeding patterns are very variable and asking for frequent feeds is quite common and normal. Please be mentally prepared for this. It is a temporary phase and the frequency will decrease with time. The same is with sleep. If baby is active and weight is ok, no major problem. But this has to be confirmed by check up

Easiest way would be to express the milk in a bowl to see if you are adequately producing the milk In cases of inadequate milk production, this is a common observation Second possibility could be improper attachment and latching where despite good milk production baby would not be able to suckle well because of improper positioning Retracted nipple could be other cause wherein baby wont be getting adequate milk supply As far as not sleeping in the day time is concerned that could be absolutely normal or could be a sign of hunger Proper feeding can also be assessed in terms of proper urine output which should be around 6-8 times a day and also adequate weight gain which should be around 30 grams per day for initial 3 months of life Hope this helps
Next Steps
Visit any gynecologist or pediatrician nearby and get the breast examination done if possible
