Hi,
My son 40days old always holds his breath when he cries and especially a lot during feed and while taking milk he will hold his breath continuously. We are finding very difficult to feed him as he cries a lot like that in every feed.
Pls let me know is this a serious issue.
And any paediatric near to vanasthalipuram to visit.

This is a common observation to hold breath while crying, usually it is a benign act and can be relieved by a pain ful stimulus. Some times apnea may lead to cyanosis or blue baby syndrome which is a sign of severe congenital heart disease
If child turns blue while crying see a pediatrician to know cause of blue lips, it’s an emergency
