4.5 months Pregnant, low hb, high iron
I'm 4.5 weeks pregnant, expecting my first baby. Recently I had done my blood tests, hb is 8.5 (last week 8.6), rbc 3.34 (last week 3.04), serum iron 229 (last week 219). Dr has asked me to do a Thalassemia test to rule out anything. Just to note i have never had any issues in my childhood related to hb Or any blood disorder. Current peripheral smear test has detected RBCs hypochromia slight, macrosyts slight and microcytes slight Will this affect my pregnancy and the baby. Will it have any issues?

Try to get a repeat serum iron level tests aand vitamin B12 levels. As the TIBC levels are high, we cannot certainly tell if Thalessemia testing is necessary. Connect after the reports.
