Hi doctor
sometimes my 3week old baby boy wants to keep on drinking milk even after feeding from both sides and leaving them.
When I put him back to breast he just keeps it in his mouth but doesn't suck.
and then if I remove him he cries.
Why is it so?
Is it possible that he is over feeding and cries due to stomach bloating??

Hi
Average feeding time for each breast would be around 15-20 min.you can feel the emptiness/freeness once letdown is over.so no point in giving it for a longer period of time.
If u give for a longer period of time it becomes the pacifier effect.
So try to give feeding by one side of the breast and once u feel that let down is over offer feed from the other side.
Hope I have answered ur query.
