Hi,
I want to know the instructions for collecting 24 hr urine for protein & creatinine test. I have been prescribed by doctor to do those above tests.

To collect 24 hour urine test, you will be given a 5 or 10 litre CAN with a preservative in it.
For example, if you are starting the test from Thursday morning, get up from your bed on Thursday morning, go to the toilet and pass the first sample of urine into the latrine.
Start collecting urine from the second sample of the day into the measuring CAN. Collect all urine samples into the CAN till Thursday night before going to sleep.
Friday morning, get up from your bed and collect the first sample of friday again into the CAN.
Thats it. 24 urine collection is over
CAN can be maintained at room temperature
