My elder sister had a very short and light 2 day period this month, a few days before her period date with severe lower back pain. What could be the reason? This has never happened before.

Hello there.
I can understand your concern.
the periods can have a duration ranging from 2 days to even 7 days in some individuals and it can be perfectly normal.
you do not need to worry about it much. also, since this is a isolated issue that is its happened only this month and doesn't happen often you can just ignore this incident.
if it keeps happening like this, you need to get a ultrasound done and consult a gynaecologist in person for further help.
