1 month old baby doesn't wake for feeds
Hi doctor From past 3 days My 1 month old baby boy has started sleeping for more than 3hr stretches during the day and doesn't wake by himself for feeding. Should I wake him up during day time or wait for 3 4hrs for him to get up by himself??? During late nights around 3-4a.m. , he wakes up and then doesn't sleep much and keeps on feeding continuously in small 30mins intervals and keeps peeing pooping until morning around 8-9a.m. Sometimes after feeding late in the night he vomits and passes loose stools too. Is it normal?? or should I be worried for this pattern??

Babies take time to adjust for day and night cycle, wake him up and feed 3 hours once if he doesn't wake himself, it is normal for babies to pass stools while feeding ( gastro colic reflex) . If baby is sleeping for 2-3 hours, pass urine 8-10 times, gaining adequate weight ( can check during 6 week vaccination) , no need to worry .
Next Steps
adequate burping is important. head end elevation while sleeping
Health Tips
continue breastfeeding adequate burping

3 hrs gap in between feeds is ideal.not more than that. If does not awaken for feed then stimulate by tickling behind ears or under feet.
