*urgent* Radiation from CT scans
Hi, I had 2 CECT scans of my neck, 2 CECT scans of my thorax and 1 contast enhanced PET-CT in a year frame. I never knew the risk associated with it. I am 28 years old female. Chest Ct scans was necessary because of the followup of mediastinal mass and pet ct to evaluate the malignancy. But neck ct scans were unnecessary. I was so scared that I had to do. So total 4 CECT scans and 1 PET CT scan in 1 year. How likely am i getting cancer in future? I heard ionizing radiation damaged DNA.

Yes ionizing radiation causes cancer but the cumulative dose of radiation in your case is unlikely to cause it.
