Ms. Bhavani Janakiram

I came across Ms. Janakirams profile on practo.com looking for help to get through a difficult period of depression and self doubt. I live in Bangalore and could not visit the clinic in Chennai but she took it upon herself to call me and offer help via sessions over the phone.

She listened keenly and her voice was comforting which allowed me to freely confide in her. She helped me understand the myriad of emotions and overwhelming thoughts I was having and gave me practical suggestions to deal with them, like practicing mindfulness and mind mapping. I could tell that she truly wanted to help me and it was coming from her heart, I felt I could trust her. She would also call and check on me periodically to see if I was doing okay or if I needed help and she was accessible at all times. I felt she has experienced a lot in life and comes from a place of practical knowledge which makes it all the more appealing to talk to her.

My journey is still underway and I continue to heal mentally and emotionally, knowing Ms. Janakiram is there helps me feel less alone. She has helped pave the way for me to live a life of self love and joy.

The listening room, is exactly what it says it is..a listening room! I guess the most difficult task would be to actively listen to someone, especially someone like me who can go in circles for hours. The doc listened patiently, took a genuine interest and has helped me with her recommendations. Although I went predominantly to deal with my relationship issues, i think this experience will help me as a person too.

The doc takes complete ownership of the concern at hand, and follows up with us; and is available to us anytime on the phone and does not limit herself to just the sessions. It has been truly helpful and anyone struggling to cope with the hard balls life throws at us will find the required support here!

The ambience at the clinic was peaceful and comforting.

But, compared to the other counsellors that I've visited, she was below average. For example, half hour into the session, she began talking about her life and what she has done to get over her grief.

If I had wanted to listen to the troubles and suggestions of people, I would have gone to a friend and not have paid to get irritated.

I understand that it was meant to act as a source of inspiration, but all I had wanted was someone to listen to me uninterruptedly and empathise with me.

Also, despite telling her that I have a migraine, maybe unknowingly, she spoke so loudly that my daughter sitting in the waiting room could hear her.

Hence, I wouldn't recommend the reader to seek her help.

i will never recommend this place to ???? .....waste of time waste of money above all i was judged by her instead of listening room she can change her clinic to judging room

I went to see her for my emotional outbursts , stress and anxiety and grief counselling. But she was able to see that the problem was more deep rooted and also offered to meet with my fiance and sort out the communication problems we had between us.

She met us both separately and then together, helped us address our issues and helped us with solutions. Today the two of us are a lot happier and far more accomodating with each other than we were before her visit.

She gives her 100% while listening to you and asks relevant questions to understand the "whys and whats" better. She is very sweet and has an extremely open mind and is not judgemental at all which was most important.

She also follows up on your progress by keeping in touch on the phone to find out if you're feeling better or having better days.

I would recommend her with 5 stars! You won't get a better professional psychologist in this area to help you out!

She listen intently to what I had to say. She gave time for me to explain. She analysed and gave strategies that were realistic. She made me think through the problem. She is good.
