Dr. Mahesh Sundaram

Dr. Mahesh is an accomplished Surgical Gastroenterologist with more than a decade of surgical practice both in various centers of India and abroad (UK). He has trained in treating diseases of gastrointestinal system from the best centers in India including SGPGI Lucknow, Asian Institute of Gastroenterology Hyderabad and Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi. He is a gold medalist in surgical gastroenterology awarded by the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi. He has further specialized in surgical treatment of liver, pancreas and biliary diseases. He is highly skilled in performing advanced key hole surgeries (laparoscopy) for both cancers of gastrointestinal system and non cancers including bariatric surgery thus enabling less painful recovery and quicker return to normal life. He has presented scientific papers in various national and international forums on gastrointestinal, liver, pancreatic and biliary diseases. He has authored scientific articles published in international and national journals. He has worked as consultant in Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad and is fluent in Telugu and Hindi apart from English, Tamil and Kannada. Until recently he was consultant at Global Hospital Chennai. Currently he caters to all socioeconomic strata of the society visiting select hospitals in Chennai treating patients from India and abroad. He enjoys mentoring juniors in his field of specialization. He has a passion of setting up a department of gastroenterology and hepatobiliary sciences of international standards.
