I went to Dr Madhusudan Naidu after searching hard for a urogynecologist. I thought I had a bladder prolapse as the wall that separates the bladder from the vagina seemed to be pushing down into the vaginal opening.
I’m a 43 year old woman. Mother of two teenagers both of whom I delivered vaginally. And if you read enough, you find that a pelvic prolapse is common enough for women who’ve had natural deliveries.
I had been to Manipal hospital before I found Dr Naidu. There, the doctor did an exam and couldn’t find anything. But I was in pain and I knew there was something pushing down in that area. She dismissed me with, “after you had children they didn’t teach you to do pelvic floor exercises or what?”
I proceeded to spend more time and money there and had two unproductive ultrasounds where the doctor was only interested in looking for a polyp.
Nobody heard me.

Dr Naidu was patient and listened to my whole story with attention to symptoms such as fever and bodyache. He immediately realised that there was an infection. He did an exam and discovered that what was presenting as a prolapse to me was indeed a urethral diverticulitis.
During the exam itself he managed to push out the pus that was in the diverticulitis and instantly I felt relief in the area.
He did a pelvic scan as well to show me exactly where the problem was and what had happened. A little space by the urethra had become infected and filled with pus and that had pushed down in a vessel, presenting like a prolapse into the vagina.
As it was an infection we had to treat it with antibiotics. I was given an injection and then a course to follow for 5 days.
Totally relieved it wasn’t the pelvic prolapse I thought it was I was reassured that my pelvic is just fine! And everything is now back to normal.
And he also checked again for the polyp which is nonexistent.
I am very grateful for the extremely patient and professional manner in which Dr Naidu handled my problem.
(I dread to think what might have happened at Manipal. )

I met Dr. Madhusudhan for my MIL’s Vaginal Prolapse issue. I was suggested to look for a Urogynecologist by a family doctor. After going through reviews on Practo, I shortlisted Dr. Madhusudhan as he seemed to be the correct person with the required specialization.
During my first meeting with him, I was very impressed by his way of explaining the issue and the solution to us. He was very patient and gave a through listening to my MIL to understand her concerns. He never tried to scare us on her problem and gave us the real picture. My MIL had already undergone a TKR surgery and we were very worried about the possibility of an infection. He handled our concerns technically and assured that he will ensure that the operation does not result in any infection in her knee joint.
He suggested some diagnostic tests, whose reports he reviewed by Mail/Whatsapp and confirmed that my MIL was all good to take the surgery. As he confirmed that the surgery was not urgent, we took a comfortable slot which was around a month later. During this time, he was always available on Whatsapp for answering our queries, though he was visiting UK for similar surgeries during that time.
On the day of operation also, he was very understanding and meticulous. He met us before and after the procedure and informed about the operation in great detail. He was available in the hospital during the recovery phase post operation. My MIL was discharged after 3 days. All went eventless and as informed by the Dr. Madhusudhan.
It’s been 2 months now, and he has always been available for our queries. My MIL has recovered and is very happy with the outcome.
I will strongly recommend Dr. Madhusudan for any such related issues or surgeries.

I visited Dr. Madhusudhan for the treatment of a prolapsed bladder on the recommendation of my gynecologist. On the first visit itself, the doctor clarified all my open questions and helped me build up my confidence. I was going back & forth with regard to proceeding with a surgery as I was not very sure about it success rate, but after consulting with Dr. Madhusudhan, he explained how the surgery works in simple layman terms which I could relate to and helped me make up my mind to proceed with it.
The surgery itself was very successful and it's been almost 3 months since the surgery and I am completely back to my normal self. The doctor has done an absolutely job with the procedure and set me on my path to a very fast recovery.
The best part of the doctor is the way he deals with his patients. He is extremely patient and will take time to explain the problem in great detail in a simple manner. He always has a smile on his face, which i believe is a great trait for a doctor, as that helps relieve a lot of stress for the patient. He also exudes a lot confidence and backs this up with his skills which goes a long way in helping us trust him and his diagnosis. All in all, it was a great experience and I would certainly recommend Dr. Madhu to other patients.
