The test—called the pentagon test—had only been reviewed minutes before the surgery. This crucial test, which should have been performed well in advance, indicated that the surgery wasn't a safe option for me. Dr. Soni suggested a different surgery, PRK, as an alternative—still outside the operating room, at the last minute and I was left to decide if I wanted to risk my eyes.

And because of this, I got to know about these complications at the last minute which ideally should be performed well in advance.
