Ms. Arunita Biswas

When I first met Dr Arunita Biswas, she pointed out that she was not here to solve my problems, but rather to peel the onion and surface them. She has since enabled me to gain perspective on my circumstances and find my own solutions.

To say that she is really good at her job would be an understatement. Her insights often feel like the part of the jigsaw puzzle that has been right in front of you all this while. Although she is the expert, she is not one to force an opinion. She values any differences in opinion and has always been keen to understand one’s position and course correct.

Since having consulted her, I realized that I was living with a weight, and I finally feel like it has been lifted off my chest. I literally breathe better, the quality of my mental state on a daily basis is better than I can ever recall. I appreciate that she calls a spade a spade and questions your “truths” and leads you to introspect at a fundamental level. My whole perspective on my role in my relationships has evolved and am finding a balance to invest my emotions and efforts in them. Thanks to her, I have had a few Eureka moments that I can claim to have changed my life!

I went through a difficult breakup that left me struggling to move forward and live my life normally. A friend recommended Dr. Arunita, and I first met her at her home. I remember breaking down in tears, expressing how desperately I wanted to be happy again and not be consumed by sadness. I continued to visit her weekly, and during our sessions, I would talk for about 45-50 minutes while she spoke for only 10. Went for marriage counselling. We have an autistic kid. We have been through psychologist before as well for different reason. I did not like two things about her honesty and empathy. Because Manipal Varthur and practo shows 1700 and she is asking to pay 2k from us. 2nd thing I had forwarded one short flim(youtube 19 mins long) which captures the daily life and struggle with an autistic kid, she did not care to watch and on the whatsapp *** **** *** ******** **** ** *** *** **** ********* ***** **** *** **** **** *** ***** **** ****** **** *** **** * ******* **** *** **** ***** ** ***** ** ** ****** ******* *** * *** **** She also does not remember the home work given to my husband or make a note of it. Both of them have forgotten the homework. ******* ****** ********** *** ******** ** **** *** **** *** **** ** **** ** *** ******** ********* During the session any phone call comes she would pick up. * ****** **** ********** ********* ******** ******** *** ******* ** *** ** **** ************ *** * *** *** ***** ******* *** ** ** * ****** ************ **** *** **** **** *** ****. Pls do some research before deciding on the person.

Not so good experience with the doctor. First of all, with the least amount of interest, just like a monotonous routine chore, *** ************ ******** ** ** *** started noting down my issues. She kept on interrupting me (as she only wanted to know what she wanted to know and NOT what I was suffering from), kept looking at the time, then her phone, then her PC, etc.

While narrating, I became emotional and wept (coz it's not easy to go over sour memories), *** *** ****** ********** *** ********** ** ******* Then finally, all she said was come next week. When I inquired about the problem and the line of treatment/approach she thinks is possible, she gave a very unsatisfactory one-line answer. I probed further and she gave another disinterested one-liner reply. As a patient, I was at least expecting a simple explanation about my problem, if not, atleast the approach that she planned to take for the treatment. She did give that info forcefully but still I didn't feel like going to her again.

In fact, after moving out of her room, I went to a quiet place in the hospital and had a break-down. Not really the doc's fault. I was already feeling very emotional, *** ******* ** ******** **** *** **** ** **** ******

I have been visiting Dr. Arunita on and off for 10+ years.

Over the course of time, I have found these sessions extremely enriching to both my personal and professional life.

I have come back and requested for sessions multiple times and also referred others, all of whome have also seen tremendous results. Some main points that I have noticed as a difference between how Dr. Arunita works and other therapists is :

Personal Journey :

I went from being a young adult who found it hard to hold down a job to now being the director of an international organisation and I owe a lot of that to the personality coaching I went though over the years with Dr. Arunita.

Apart from the professional accolades, my personal life with my family and my marital life has changed and improved greatly. I went from being criticized and having low self-esteem to being an adult who can claim my space, recognise toxic traits in my near and dear ones and find ways to draw personal boundries to enjoy these relationships without the toxicity.

I had tried other therapist in between these years, but found that none were able to match up to the amazing professionalism and Intuitiveness of Dr. Arunita. She matches my drive and intensity as a person and pushes me hard to change but at the same time is able to do gentle and soft paced therapy for my family to cope with thier issues as well .

I have also improved immensely as a person due to therapy. Over the years, I have evolved from being distant, socially awkward and closed off to being a lively, humorous and vivacious person who is living life to the fullest.

I have been consulting with Dr. Arunita for around 18 months now and she has been immensely beneficial in turning my life around. I was an alcoholic, with a lot of unaddressed trauma in the past and very little will to live. After regular counseling, I am one year sober now. I have turned my life around for the better. I have rediscovered my goals and a sense of ambition and I am actively pursuing it and I have to thank her for being an integral part of the journey. I know that I couldn't have done it without her guidance.

Dr. Arunita is very patient and she really cares. I have had bad experiences with therapists in the past but with Dr. Arunita, I feel heard.

I have worked with Dr. Arunita on and off, since moving to India 4 years ago, and have been happy with my experiences with her. She has a very candid and straight forward approach, which I find helps get to the heart of issues quickly. Dr. Arunita is an extremely compassionate and empathetic practitioner. Overall her approach is very effective.

My husband and I have also gone to Dr. Arunita for marriage counselling and we were very grateful for her support. She helped us to clarify the problems we were working with and put them into perspective.

Dr Biswas definitely knows what she is doing, very professional and covers all aspects, was never biased and god bless her patience when I lost my cool, therapy took more time than I expected but it was worth every session and when I met her I thought it is something small and boy was I wrong, her assignments frustrated me in the beginning but giving it time through all my sessions, I never expected how much that would benefit me individually, dealing with my stress and to turn off the overthinking brain. I am a software engineer and before meeting Dr.Arunita, I was struggling with low motivation and high disinterest with anything in my life including work and my hobbies.

She didn't give me a magic cure on day 1, but listened to me patiently for the first few days about everything she wanted to know about me. As a first step, opening up to her queries in itself made me feel a bit better.

Then in later sessions she started providing me with informed insights in to my thoughts, feelings and my past actions. The most important takeaway for me , that she always stressed on, was that it was okay to feel the way I did and not to beat myself up thinking about it. She helped me understand more about myself than I ever did.

As my sessions with her progressed, I noticed I was slowly getting back to my life and started engaging in what I loved, again. After a few more weeks, she informed me that I should be fine from now on and would not need to consult her anymore.

I genuinely appreciate the efforts taken by Dr. Arunita to understand my concerns and offer assistance. I commned the fact that unlike most practitioners she did not hastily suggest that I go on medication but took time to understand and deal with the issue in an appropriate manner. I like that she's always been approachable and is a generally amiable person.
