Senior Consultant Psychiatrist | Founder, Tanmay Mind CareDr. Vidya Mohan is a highly experienced psychiatrist with over 15 years of dedicated service in the field of mental health. She is the Founder and Senior Consultant Psychiatrist at Tanmay Mind Care, established on June 8, 2023.Dr. Vidya completed her MBBS from Kempegowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bangalore, under Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychiatry from JJM Medical College, Davangere, and a DNB in Psychiatry from the Schizophrenia Research Foundation (SCARF), Chennai—a WHO Collaborating Centre for Mental Health Research and Training. She also holds the MRCPsych (UK), a prestigious credential from the Royal College of Psychiatrists.Her academic journey includes a Postgraduate Certificate in Child and Adolescent Mental Health from Pathways Foundation, Coimbatore, and specialized training in Allo’s Sexual Medicine Course. She has completed both foundation and advanced courses with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) Global Education Institute, and practices as a queer-affirmative psychiatrist.Dr. Vidya has held key clinical roles throughout her career. She served as a Consultant Psychiatrist and Centre In-Charge at Vazhikatti Mental Health Centre & Research Institute, Tirupur and Coimbatore, where she was also involved in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry services and Telepsychiatry. She contributed as a teaching faculty for Tamil Nadu Open University, training postgraduate students in counselling and psychotherapy.She worked as a Senior Resident at KMCH Institute of Health Sciences and Research, Coimbatore, and provided psychiatric care through various private clinics, including her time with the RXDX Health Care Team in Bangalore. From 2021 to 2023, she led the Acute and Adult Psychiatry Services at Maarga Mind Care, Yelahanka.Throughout her career, Dr. Vidya has actively participated in national conferences as a speaker and resource person, sharing her expertise in diverse psychiatric domains.Her clinical interests span adult psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, geriatric psychiatry, sexual medicine, and queer affirmative mental health care.
