Dr. Umesh Srikantha

Dr Umesh Shrikanta and his whole team is a team of genius doctors. Mine was the case of extrusion / herniation causing severe lower back pain and right leg function failure. I underwent "minimal invasive microdiscectomy" surgery which is performed with latest equipments and the most advanced spinal surgery. The same day of surgery they made me stand and walk 5 steps with support. The next day I was walking normally and walked for an hour :) yes you read it right I walked for an hour :-). I am thankful to the medical researchers and implementers who made it possible to have just an inch of cut at my back with no stitch and fetched out the problem causing nucleus that came out of my l4 l5 disc causing anular tear and also caused 85% nerve compression. I am a 33 years old lady having 2 kids and my younger one is 3 years old. In such a situation I got a spinal attack on 21st June 2020 morning 5:30 am. I was unable to move any body part except my hands and the pain was so severe that it made me almost unconscious. I did bed rest for 4 days washroom activities also on bed and then realised its not possible in my case with 2 kids and such severe case of herniation which does not guarantee normal life after 3 months of bed rest too and hence we decided to go for surgery. I came to know about Dr Umesh senior neurosurgeon and head of spinal surgery in Aster cmi from my jijaji Dr Himanshu a senior knee replacement surgeon in Shelvi hospital Ahmedabad. They met in national conferences. Great and intelligent minds :). Dr Umesh and his team explained me my anatomy and problem thoroughly clearing all my doubts. The physiotherapy team, team of dietician and nursing staff was a brownie point. Today is 29th June 2020. I am walking and going home with smile and confidence. It was a miracle I will always remember in my life.

My father has been suffering from lumbar canal stenosis for about 5 years.The condition was progressively getting worse over the years, we consulted many surgeons both in India and US.Finally in 2023 we decided to get it operated as my dad could not walk more than 5 minutes.We were very nervous due to risks, so we did a lot of research about the surgery techniques, technology and surgeon.My brother-in-law Dr Anirudh, himself a famous neurosurgeon from nimhans suggested Dr Umesh as the best spine surgeon in the city. Dr Umesh is a specialist in spine surgery with many years of experience and super specialization in the field of microsurgery.He does not make any unrealistic promises, but does an excellent job.Though my dad is 78, the surgery was really successful l, he began walking the next day and the pain has pretty much resolved. They promised something like 85 percent reduction in pain, but the actual result is close to 95 percent.We are very pleased with the result, my dad now walks daily and is able to be fully independent.In short, if you have any spine problems and need spine surgery, you should definitely see Dr Umesh.

I do not recommend this doctor. I had visited for back bone fracture. Doctor did not talk properly and helped us in understanding the problem and taking precautions.

Doctor only focused on surgery, and kept on telling about surgery. I asked him should I continue the previous given medicine he has like it’s your wish if u want to take you can take, I asked should I be on bed rest, he was like if you can walk u can then walk, it’s your wish. Doctor was laughing or making fun for asking doubts. ********* ** **** * ***** ******** ****** **** *** ******* ****** *** ****** ** **********

Met Dr Umesh after great difficulty at near OT and my wife is consulting the Dr for first time ** ****** ********* less than 05 mins whole list of tablets were prescribed (worth Rs6000) at one go.

I am not worried about the price but that did not solve *** ******* **** ** *** **** ******* *** ******** ******* *** ** *** ******** ** *** ********

I got the L5-S1 MLD surgery done by Dr Umesh Srikantha and the extreme nerve pain I experienced for couple of months magically vanished after the surgery. Really thankful Dr Umesh and his fabulous team to do do such a sensitive surgery so well . The hospital is flawless ,all the staff are very kind and caring. We had so much apprehension about getting a spine surgery done and tried all conservative treatments. Nothing worked . Thanks to the surgery I am able to stand and walk freely again. Thanks a lot . We met Dr Srikantha once and the same day got admitted and next day we did the surgery. Date of admission: 12 -April , discharge 16 -apr 2023. Hoping to recover completely in next few weeks .

I have undergone a spine surgery at Aster CMI, under the supervision of Dr Umesh. He and his team are true professionals and have explained me the condition, treatment needed and time it would take to recover. They operated on me well and had seen some improvement the very next day. I am continuing with the physio exercises and other precautions and hoping to recover completely in a months time. They even visited me the next day of surgery as a follow up and explained me the precautions that I must follow.

Overall I am satisfied with Dr Umesh and his team.

We had gone to the hospital for was my father. He had a spinal related issue. I also met Dr. Guru prasad and also Dr. Umesh Srikantha. Both treated my father. *** ***** *** **** ** ********. Scanning and Brain and spinal MRI cost were too much. It was an issue with the brain which was told by doctor. I am satisfied with the treatment given. I can recommend doctor to my family or friends. Due to age, surgery was not recommended. Physiotherapy was suggested. Tablets were provided. He is not able to walk. He has a problem in the brain because of excess fluid in the brain. Waiting time was not much in the hospital.

My dad had numbness in legs and hands and couldn’t walk properly. Dr. Umesh suggested surgery in the lower back and in the neck. He said my dad will be able to walk properly and hold the grip of the sandals he wears. ***** ******* ** ***** *** *** **** ***** *** ***** *** ** ********. When my dad confronted he said the operation will help him recover gradually and not at one go. ** *** ********* **** ********* *** ***** ********. I will never visit aster and the doctor.

The way Dr. has Explained us about the problem which my brother was facing and shown it written in a piece of paper how it can be treated to recover, it's all a satisfactory thing.
