Ms. Simran Thawani

Ms Simran Thawani is a certified genetic counselor by the Board of Genetic Counseling in India (Reg. No. - BGCI-2021-56). She has completed a certification course in Genetic Counseling, has presented case reports at BGCI Conference (2022), Neuropedicon (2021) and Fetocon conferences (2022). She has case reports in the Journal of Fetal Medicine and in International Journal of Contemporary Pediatrics published in her name. She has experience in crisis counselling at 1Life - a suicide helpline working with at risk individuals. Simran uses communication skills and expertise in genetic conditions, their inheritance pattern and recurrence risks, to effectively break down complex information into a simpler format for easy understanding through diagrammatic and descriptive explanations. She has experience in prenatal, pediatric and adult onset conditions including cancer and psychiatric disorders among other conditions. Simran offers pretest and post test genetic counselling for individuals with personal and/or family history of conditions like infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, high risk pregnancies, developmental delay, autism, childhood and adult onset syndromes, cardiac, diabetes, cancer and psychiatric conditions.
