Responding to the feedback above. Hope this is helpful to your elderly father who was unaccompanied at the time of the visit and to future patients visiting our clinic.
a. We have in stock both AZOPT (Alcon @ Rs 460) and BRINZOX (Ajanta @ Rs. 313). The molecule in both is Brinzolamide 0.1% which is keeping the patients’ intraocular pressure at acceptable levels, so the same drug in a cheaper brand and presumably less irritating to the eyes ( as per his request) was only suggested. There was clearly no commercial angle or coercion to take the medication.
b. Consultation fees at the clinic are clearly mentioned in most online booking sites. Additional retinal and glaucoma evaluation is a nominal fee of Rs 100, which one may decline to opt for. I also consult in certain hospitals for Rs 250/ - where dilatation is additional (corporate and charitable). Details have been clearly explained to the patient.
c. Sincere apologies for the Cash Receipt. We are a fairly new clinic with minimal medicines in stock for the convenience of a few patients. We are still experimenting with various EMR platforms to suit our speciality and inventory requirements. Nevertheless, if you look at the Cash Receipt carefully, it has three ticks corresponding to Consultation, Procedure and Medicines (sold at MRP), suggesting that the medicines cost is the total minus the consultation fees. For patients who request us for a break up bill it has been promptly given. We have mailed your itemized bill. Thank you for visiting us.
