Dr. Prathima A is a dedicated and principle-driven medical professional specializing in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, and Urogynaecology. With a solid academic foundation and over a decade of progressive clinical experience, she brings a research-oriented and evidence-based approach to patient care, with a special focus on high-risk pregnancies, urogynecological disorders, and women's reproductive health.She was a gold medalist in her MBBS from Sri Devaraj Urs Medical college Kolar and completed her MS OBG from The Prestigious Bangalore Medical college and Research centre. She holds an MCh in Urogynaecology from Edge Hill University, UK, and advanced training in pelvic floor reconstruction from the Institute of Urogynaecology in Bangalore.Experience:Dr. Prathima has expertise in a wide range of procedures including non-descent vaginal hysterectomy, pelvic organ prolapse repairs, apical suspension, and anti-incontinence surgeries. Her exposure to patient led antenatal care, early pregnancy complications and high- risk pregnancies during her NHS tenure provided her with a comprehensive skill set for holistic care delivery. She specialises in family centred deliveries and gentle Cesarean sections.Her passion is for women’s health including morbid conditions like overactive bladder and urinary incontinence which are silent deprivers of women’s freedom. Her experience at Bladder clinics and Urodynamics clinics at NHS have added experience in managing these tough conditions.She has worked as a specialty trainee in Urogynaecology at the WWL NHS Trust, UK, and as consultant obstetrician and urogynaecologist at Brindhavvan Areion Hospital, Bengaluru and Suguna Hospital Bengaluru. Dr. Prathima combines evidence-based practice with compassionate care and has presented her research at various state and national conferences and also was a speaker at the RCOG World Congress in London in 2022. She is also committed to medical education and clinical audits to enhance patient outcomes.
