Dr. Pramod Kumar Pal

Dr. Pal is a Neurologist and Movement Disorders specialist. He has dedicated his career to taking care of patients, teaching, research, formulation of guidelines, advocacy and clinical initiatives in Parkinson’s Disease, Movement Disorders and Human Motor Physiology. At NIMHANS, for nearly 3 decades, he played a pivotal role in establishing the Movement Disorders subspecialty and Fellowship Training Programs, helping shape the next generation of neurologists in India. His leadership contributions include serving as the President of the Indian Academy of Neurology, Founder Secretary and later as President of the Movement Disorders Society of India (MDSI), President of the Parkinson's Disease Society of Karnataka, Secretary of the Neuromodulation Society (India) and the Parkinson Research Association of India (PRAI), and Founding Editor-in-Chief of the Annals of Movement Disorders. He served in various capacities within the International Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Society (MDS) and the Asia-Oceania Section (MDS-AOS). He served as the chair of the Education Committee of MDS and is currently the Chair-Elect of the MDS-AOS.
