Dr. Pallavi D Rao

I completed undergraduate training from JJMMC Davangere in 2000, completed MRCP (UK) in 2009 and did specialist training in Diabetes and Endocrinology at University Hospital, Cambridge and University Hospitals Leicester in the UK. I have completed a postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes and Endocrinology from Queen Mary University London in 2012. I have experience in treating patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, Diabetic emergencies, and complications. I have done specialist courses on day to day management of both Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes, communication and counselling skills, patient education and empowerment, and use of technology in treating diabetes- Insulin pump course. I have had experience in managing diabetes and endocrine conditions in special circumstances like pregnancy, elderly, and special needs patients and dealing with various complications of diabetes. With regards to endocrine disorders, I have had experience in treating patients with thyroid, parathyroid, adrenal, PCOS, pancreatic and pituitary disorders. I have given expert talks, in national and international conferences related to diabetes and endocrine disorders. I have authored chapters in textbooks regarding both diabetes and endocrine disorders. I belive in educating and empowering my patients with knowledge about their condition and also how they can help themselves on a day to day basis. I am a hard working person who knows my strengths and limitations, which I feel is very important in treating patients.
