My grandmother has been suffering from varicose veins since 2015. She had a history of DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) in 2008 and was treated for 3 years, after which it got cured. Later, we were told that her varicose veins were due to that blood clot. On the advice of an interventional radiologist, she underwent laser surgery.

However, for the past 7 years, she has been suffering from blackish discoloration in both legs — more severe in the leg that had the laser surgery — and a persistent wound on her left leg. When we revisited the same doctor, he suggested laser surgery for the other leg as well.
