Dr. G Vivek is an experienced cardiologist in Bangalore. He is currently practising as a Consultant - Cardiology at Manipal Hospital Kanakapura Road. Dr. Vivek offers advanced interventional cardiology care across age groups, from neonates to adults, for complex cardiac conditions including coronary artery disease, congenital heart defects, heart failure, structural heart disease, valvular disorders, and arrhythmias.After completing his MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, he pursued an MD in Internal Medicine and then a DM in Cardiology from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal. He was awarded the A.D. Ramegowda Award and Dr. V.K. Krishna Prakash Gold Medal for academic excellence in MD General Medicine. He later received the B Braun Medical Trust Foundation Scholarship during his cardiology training.Dr. Vivek specialises in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in interventional cardiology, including coronary angioplasty, peripheral interventions, valvuloplasties, device closures, and pacemaker implantations. He has performed over 5000+ coronary angioplasties and has advanced skills in complex procedures like chronic total occlusion (CTO) interventions, bifurcation stenting, rotablation, and intravascular imaging. His hands-on experience with intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), optical coherence tomography (OCT), and fractional flow reserve (FFR)-guided PCI enhances clinical precision.Dr. Vivek is also adept at implanting cardiac devices, including single and dual-chamber pacemakers, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDS), and biventricular pacemakers for cardiac resynchronisation therapy (CRT). His proficiency in alcohol septal ablation for hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy (HOCM) and aortic stenting reflects his versatility in addressing structural and rhythm disorders. In paediatric cardiology, Dr. Vivek treats congenital heart defects using minimally invasive techniques.
