Medical emergencies are never predictable for any one but in such a situation if anyone is in need of a General / GI /laparoscopic surgeon, then no doubt Dr.Viswanath S ( currently at manipal hospitals Sarjapur road) is the best a patient can get. In my case, I had sudden onset of pain on my backside right side which upon USG found out to be gall bladder stones and needed immediate surgical intervention to remove the gall bladder itself. I was referred to Dr Viswanath S at manipal hospitals, Sarjapur road and that was the first positive turn in my episode of pain. The Dr. was so comfortable to discuss the issues and the plan..he was so approachable and explained the issues and solutions very well. I found that just a couple of basic blood tests and I was arraigned for the laparoscopic surgery. No unnecessary scans or MRI or unwanted tests were prescribed. On the surgery day also Dr.Viswanath personally ensured that I was full of confidence and comfortable prior /during /after surgery. Dr Viswanath along with anesthetist Dr.Prasanna and his team made the entire procedure of laparoscopic cholecystectomy a completely comfortable, painless and hassle free experience for me. I was on rest for that day of surgery and the next day I was feeling much better and getting back to form, I was discharged immediately followed by rest at home. I am back to my normal life. No unwanted medicines post discharge. When things go unexpected and you need a medical help in such a situation, then an excellent doctor surgeon like Dr.Viswanath S and a good hospital like manipal Sarjapur is what you need. In the unfortunate event of a similar emergency needing a laparoscopic General/GI surgery please don't think twice, go to Dr.Viswanath S. All the best

My father recently underwent bilateral hernia surgery performed by Dr. Vishwanath at Manipal Hospital. Given his high-risk status with cardiac issues and Parkinson’s, we were naturally concerned, but everything went smoothly, thanks to Dr. Vishwanath and his dedicated team. We were kept well-informed at every stage, and my father is now on a steady path to recovery. Dr. Vishwanath has been incredibly accessible, always available on the phone to address even the smallest queries with patience.

Our experience with the medical staff at Manipal was excellent, especially compared to previous experiences in Kerala, where some doctors can be less approachable. The only area for improvement would be the responsiveness of the nursing station; we noticed a delay in their responses to requests for assistance. Overall, however, we are very grateful for the quality of care and attention shown by Dr. Vishwanath and his team.

I visited this doctor for a cyst(pimple) that required a minor procedure. Although I was told that only local anesthesia would be used, I ************ lost consciousness during the procedure, ***** *** ***** ******* ********* ********** This raised concerns about transparency and patient safety. I was charged 12,800 for a simple pimple cyst removal.

After the procedure, I was asked to return every week for dressing changes for a small cyst wound, with each visit costing over ₹1,000. *** ********** ** ******** ********* ****** **** ********* *** **** *********** ****** **** ********* **********

Dr. Vishwanath seems too much inclined for doing a surgery (monetary benefits by hospitalizing). He kind of forced me to go for a surgery, even for a minor abscess (wound filled with pus). He also asked me to do a costly MRI by saying this is required to say if a surgery is required or not. And after doing that, he said to go for a surgery next day. And I was all prepared to go for surgery. But in the evening itself, the wound bursted itself while treating it with hot water and got healed in 1-2 days.

My son was rushed to emergency following pain in the lower abdomen. The admission process went smoothly and Dr. Viswanath (General Surgeon) diagnosed my son's condition as Inguinal Hernia and an emergency surgery had to be done . We were anxious about the surgery but the doctor answered all our concerns with patience and then executed the procedure flawlessly.

It's been 3 weeks since my son's surgery and we have visited the hospital 3 times for follow ups. Each time we were convinced with the efficiency in keeping up the appointment, hygienic practices for nursing wounds and of course professional advice by the doctor.

I am extremely happy that our son was treated by Dr. Viswanath He is one of a kind, a true gentleman. Moreover very professional and truly caring. I would wholeheartedly and without hesitation recommend Dr. Viswanath.

Though I never given review, but always rely on review to evaluate any doctor/clinics. But this time I can't stop myself from giving a review for the excellent doctor I met.

I met doctor in couple of occasion, one for my head cysts and second for possible fistula. And both of the occasion Dr vishwanath had given his best to explain me even the minute details and treated me with utmost care and almost painless surgery with the right medicine.

A must for all general surgery consultation.

I wouldn't recommend the doctor. He seemed to be in a hurry to push for diagnostic tests. I did not feel heard as well. If he had explained better why the tests were needed and what was the alternative, it would have been much better.

Overall, I didn't like the consultation.

Visited for my son surgery

Dr Vishwanath s is a very friendly always speaking softly and with a smiling face!He is a kind person too. And all the staff God bless him for a long life to serve the society 🙏🙏
