Dr. Vinay Bhat is a certified HPB and GI Surgery with a special interest in GI Oncology, pancreatic diseases and IBD. He received his initial training in the discipline of medicine at St. John’s Medical College Bangalore which is one of the leading medical colleges in the country. After a short stint with basic science research, he completed his masters in surgery for which he received the Dr. Ramamurthy Gold Medal at the national level exit exam. With a strong inclination towards GI disease, he underwent super specialty training at the prestigious Asian Institute of Gastroenterology. He received the Dr N Rangabashyam Gold Medal at the national level exit exam. In 2015 and 2016, he has visted the Mayo Clinic,Rochester and IRCAD, Strasbourg for training in advanced laparoscopy. He joined on board the Surgical team at Aster CMI hospital, Bangalore in October 2015 bringing him with 10 years of surgical finesse and academic expertise in advanced laparoscopy, pancreatic-biliary diseases, IBD and GI oncology. He is currently the lead consultant for HPB and GI surgery at Aster CMI Hospital, Hebbal, Bangalore.

I visited the doctor twice for laparoscopic cholecystectomy and recently for Adhesiolysis. I had pelvic adhesions with sigmoid colon. I am now in the recovery phase of the surgery. Dr. Vinay is very kind and friendly, and he clearly explained the issues and the possible consequences if left untreated. He also provided recommendations for post operative care. All the nurses and duty doctors were extremely helpful and caring during my stay at Aster CMI Hospital, Hebbal.
The consultation with Dr. Vinay Bhat was very clear and satisfactory. The doctor explained everything well, and overall the experience was rated highly at 4.9 out of 5. The only minor issue was a slightly long wait time at the clinic, but I would still recommend the doctor to others.

If I could give 5 stars to Dr Vinay Bhat , I would !!! Dr Vinay Bhat is extremely professional, humble , down to earth person. Right from my first visit, he was very attentive and addressed all my health issues and explained every course of action in detail. He genuinely spends time with his patients , listens to their concerns and takes time to explain. He patiently clarifies all my queries, doubts and concerns politely, time and again. He decided to go ahead with my surgery only after careful evaluation and also ongoing post surgical care provided by Doctor is impeccable, so gentle. I feel I am in good hands. He is approachable and available on messages when and if there is a need. He definitely goes an extra mile to care for his patients. I never felt rushed and he always makes sure there is no query left unanswered. He never forgets to express his best wishes at the end of every visit. Indeed, its a rare thing to find a doctor with a combination of first rate professionalism and care for his patients. Truly, Dr Vinay Bhat is a gem of a person, a even better doctor . I underwent gallbladder removal surgery under him. Around eight months ago I knew I needed surgery as was suffering with excruciating pain .I met with couple of surgeons and couldn’t make up my mind . i happened to be in Bangalore during the lockdown .Not able to withstand the painful attacks I finally settled on meeting Dr Bhat . My first meeting with Dr Bhat went very well and I knew right there that I am making the best choice without any apprehensions .This inner intuition was very important for me to kick in .Dr Bhat is a true professional,************* *** possesses all the technical capabilities as far as skill goes. He answered every query with a lot of patience and understanding.Not feeling rushed in our conversation and being completely satisfied with my concerns and questions with accurate information and knowledge by Dr Bhat lead me to feel confident And felt the wait was well deserved.The surgery went well and so did the recovery ,was able to resume to normal lifestyle in a weeks time post surgery.
Dr Vinay Bhat has rather raised the bar very high and has set a great example of being an ideal doctor / surgeon.Qualities of Dr Bhat are definitely my benchmark to compare to before making Doctor/ surgeon related choices in future .

After knowing about my gallstone problem I almost stopped being happy or even normal due to anxiety.
When I had visited Dr Vinay Bhat, after long time I felt I was normal and I could be easily happy. He showed the way forward with ***** empathy, care and effectiveness, most of all with immense simplicity. It healed me and my anxiety also reduced just by talking to him.
