Dr. Vidhyadara helped me get back to my normal lifestyle after a Microdiscectomy surgery on my L4-L5 level. I consulted doctor after my posture had tilted by about 30 degrees and I had chronic sciatica which was constant. This limited me to even sleep in any position. Even though the doctor has recommended surgery, I was trying alternate medicine to avoid surgery which made my ailment aggravate to an extent that I had to be hospitalized at 2:00 am in the night.
I messaged Dr. Vidhyadara about my condition and he responded to me at the earliest. After admission in to the ward, Dr. Vidhyadara’s team of doctors started collecting my blood samples and vitals as early as 5:00 am the same morning. Dr. Vidhyadara is a true professional who is very clear and definite about what you might experience and how the entire journey post surgery would go and he never expected me to visit after the scheduled visits and I have recovered exactly at the pace which the doctor had advised.
I was treated on 19th of April and I am still recovering, and I still have few symptoms which Dr. Vidhyadara had already appraised. The amount of trust which Dr. Vidhyadara builds on you helps you recover from your ailment rather than the medics or the procedure. His presence used to calm my anxious nerves. I would highly recommend Dr. Vidhyadara to anyone who seeks consultation on spinal issues. The best part about his treatment is he would first advise you to work on yourself and heal naturally by Yoga, he strictly suggests patients to focus on lifestyle and diet to cure, rather than surgery. One of the best doctor who I’ve consulted on my 12yrs of ordeal with back pain, who put an end to my misery.

I am 65 year old lady and had visited Dr. Vidyadhara S at Manipal Spine Care Center @ Manipal Hospital, Old airport road. I went there as one of my friends who comes for a walk with me used to praise this doctor for a very long time.
I got to see the doctor at the scheduled time and this was contrary to my friend telling that usually one needs to wait as doctor is busy shuttling between the operations and our patient department. I was pleasantly surprised to see the young doctor as I expecting a senior doctor as my friend had told that he was the senior most dedicated spine surgeon in Bangalore ..
He listened to me carefully ... added few leading questions as I was explaining my difficulty... I liked his sense of humour when he was asking me about my stress levels (if I give or take tension to others). He examined me thoroughly. He then asked me if I had done general blood check ups. I was in fact not very regular with doctors so far. He advised me to do one comprehensive blood test and guided me to do it at least yearly once so that any derangement could be picked up early.
He asked me to also get X-rays and MRI of neck to rule out bony or disc or nerve related issues. It was kind of him that he explained the need for all these as the accurate diagnosis would be essential in successful management. He also assured me that there was no surgical indication and he was doing all tests to rule out any surprise diseases.
He gave me a handout of a lecture of him on low back pain and what he learnt over 25 years of his profession. It is one of the best gifts that I have ever received from anyone in my life. I saw a photo of him receiving an award from EX President Abdul Kalam and he said he had won presidents medal for being the young scientist.
I agreed and did all tests and came back in the afternoon. He looked at all the reports in the computer and told me that I had a small slip
Disc and spondylitis in my neck. He suggested me to take a trigger Point injection. I agreed to it and don’t realise when it was done. He then saw that I had low levels Of vitamin D3 and B12 and advised
Me to take medications. He explained me the importance of yoga and made me realise that it can be cured only by yoga.
It is now nearly 9-months since I have visited this doctor and I am completely devoid of any pain. The yoga has become a part of my daily routine.
I wish there were more doctors like Dr Vidyadhara S. he is a gem and I pray God that he has a great future ahead of him. I have no doubts in recommending him to anyone with any spinal issues.

I went to visit this Doctor for my mom's lower back pain issue. While explaining him the problem I found that he is not interested in listening to what I say and was focusing on only spine surgery. May be it is the only solution to my mom's problem but he should have enough patience to at least hear my problems. Anyway, I overlooked this and thought of going ahead with spine surgery since he was very sure that the problem will be resolved.
I went ahead for PAC related tests in Manipal hospital and that time my mom has been diagnosed with high sugar for the first time. So I did not get fitness certificate for surgery from PAC doctor and they asked me to consult this issue with Doctor since without controlling the sugar the surgery should not be performed. When I met Doctor to discuss this issue in the evening he told me that this is not an issue and fitness certificate is also not required and he can bypass this. He asked me to get my mom admitted immediately in the hospital (around 8pm itself) and he will give insulin to her next day morning and get the surgery done by evening. He also informed me that the very next day my mom can be released and she can fly back to Kolkata (hometown) next day after discharge. When I came out from his room and was in dilemma he also came out from his room and asked nurse to start all the formalities itself without taking my consent. Now I have couple of questions:
1. Since this is planned surgery why should I get my mom admitted immediately and opt for insulin?
2. Why PAC related checkups are needed when he can bypass all the negative results and even the doctors are not giving fitness report?
3. Is it really possible to fly for 2.5 hour after spine surgery on day 3? Is it really so simple?
4. Without any post surgery first check-up how can he ask patient to go back to her hometown?
I really did not get any answers of these questions and because of that I felt like running away and get her surgery done by some other Doctor who will not be in hurry.
I really do not recommend this doctor.

Visit 1 --- Time spent with doctor : less than 3 minutes. Hardly listened to my problems, didn't even look at my previous reports. recommended getting new MRI and blood tests.Visit 2 --- Time spent with doctor : less than 5 minutes.Looked at the MRI report and blood tests. No explanation given to me and straight away said come tomorrow and get these Steroid Injections and asked to take vitamin D supplements (I had a insufficiency). And also said I'll have to go for physiotherapy.I insisted he take time and explain to me what is exactly wrong , how bad is it and why is he recommending steroid injections -- what exactly is the course of action after that.He simply pointed to the MRI summary and read out to me what was written - hence steroids now*** *** * ****** *********** *********** When I asked him what if these don't work -- we will mostly go for surgery then - thayt was his answer.Further he was in a hurry to get me to leave -- I paid for atleaat a 15min consultation and he won't even afford me 5min. I have seen 8 doctors regarding this issue *** **** *** ******** *** ****** ********** ** ** ****Would not recommend this doctor if you are someone like me who expects a proper explanation for the treatment recommended.

My Mom underwent a Spinal Surgery in 2012 since she had a slip disc problem. She was fine for about a year after the surgery and later she gradually started to have the pain come back. When consulted back to Dr. Vidyadhara to find out the reason, all he kept saying was that my mom wasn't exercising or doing yoga. My mom is an active person who regularly exercises to maintain her health. When the problem got wors to an extent where my mom's posture was bent a little forward, even then the Doctor informed that its bcoz she is not excercising and low on Vitamin D. **** ** ** ** ******* *** * ****** ****** ** ****** *** ******* ** ** *** *** **** *** **** ********* ** *****. ** ********** ** *** **** ****** **** * **** **** **** ****** ** ** ****** **** ** ** ****** I was suffering from low back pain of nearly 2-years. Doctor evaluated the problem with detailed clinical and radiological evaluation. He then showed me the correlation between my symptoms and the corresponding problems in my spine. He offered me series of injections targeting the possible pain generator. He said that if one fails he would go for another. But to my luck the first spinal injection miraculously resolved my symptoms. I can trust this doctor for any of future ailments in the spine and would recommend him strongly to anyone with spinal issues with no hesitation. God bless Dr Vidyadhara S

The Doctor is amazing! Very thorough and also friendly. Very sincere too and I felt very comfortable that he has my interest in mind.
The waiting time was an issue, though it is not the Doctor's fault.
I went at 9:15am to Ortho wing, but turned out the Doctor was in Spine department. Would have been good if Practo appointment confirmation mentioned that.
Had to wait till 10:15 to see the doctor. Then got tests done and went at 12:30, but doctor had gone to surgeries. So went for Lunch and other errands per Receptionist's advice and came back at 2:30. But Doctor was again out for surgery, so had to wait for 45 minutes again.
The "45 minutes max wait time guarantee" from Practo is meaningless. Or at least it does not work with Doctors who are surgeons, so take that promise with a pinch of salt.
But the Doctor was amazing and was worth the wait.

He is an incredible doctor. He treated me for "slipped disc" with micro discectomy surgery. The surgery was quick and without any major complications. Post surgical advice regarding strength building and conditioning using specific type of yoga left me feeling much better faster than I had expected. It provided me with not only the neccessary physical conditioning but also perhaps a degree of mental stability, which might have hastened my recovery.
** ** * **** **** ******* but you have to follow his advice to the letter. Most importantly, he is a doctor that you can trust hundred percent, he has your absolute best interest in mind as his first priority and the feeling that your care is foremost on his mind when he is treating you is probably the first impression you would have.
