Ms. Vidya Satyanarayan (Physiotherapist)

I consulted Prof. Vidya m'am on the recommendation of one of my friends who himself is a practicing psychiatrist at NIMHANS. My meeting with Prof. Vidya was quite fruitful, and despite having just one short session of counseling so far, it seems to me that she understood my issues quite precisely and was able to give me practical suggestions on how to tackle them. She explained her perspectives of, and recommendations for, the issue quite properly, in easy to understand terms, using apt real-life examples that I could relate to. I liked her honest replies (and lack thereof, when enough data was not available) to all the queries that I had in my mind. Due to various constraints at my end, I might have to eventually continue my treatment in Chennai -- she was kind enough to herself ask for my number and told me that she will try to put me in touch with some good psychologists/psychotherapists from Chennai. She also suggested me that I should not change my doctors frequently.

Since it was a relatively short session, I was not able to explain all the aspects of my issues well -- still, she was able to give me some very succinct and clear techniques to follow that might help me until I restart the proper treatment with my psychiatrist back at Chennai.

Since she is a senior professor of clinical psychiatry, it was quite easy for me to trust on her diagnosis and suggestions.
